Standard vs Vault: Side-by-Side
Standard includes the base game; MW4 Vault Edition adds the listed extras. Compare their current Steam prices once you know which content you want. The separate Vault Upgrade is for eligible existing owners, not a full-game purchase.

What the MW4 Vault Edition Adds
There are two operator packs. Hostile Alliance includes Price, Valeria, Ghost and Blix. Special Forces has four operators representing the United Kingdom, Germany, France and South Korea, with corresponding national voice packs. These are separate from the game languages below.
The Signature Weapon Collection includes five weapons. Choose it for the advertised content; this site has not tested a competitive advantage or better match results from owning it.
BlackCell covers one season, including the Battle Pass, 20 Tier Skips and 1,100 COD Points. For purchases or upgrades made after launch, Activision grants it at the start of the first new Season after the transaction. Check that timing before buying. Official BlackCell availability terms.

Game Languages and Operator Voice Packs
Steam and Activision list these game languages, separately from operator voice packs:
- Voiceover, interface and subtitles: English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish (Spain) and Spanish (Latin America).
- Interface and subtitles only: Arabic, Polish, Russian and Traditional Chinese.
Availability can depend on region and platform; check your Steam language table and the official language FAQ. Vault’s Special Forces pack is not required for the game’s listed Simplified Chinese audio.
How the Vault Upgrade Works
The upgrade adds content to an eligible base game on the original digital purchase platform. For Steam owners, check the Steam or in-game upgrade item’s current requirements.
Use this order before buying:
- Confirm which storefront owns your MW4 base game. A Steam library entry and a purchase on another PC storefront are different things to check.
- Open the official Steam product listing using the account that owns the base game.
- Read the upgrade item’s requirements and included contents. Check for a base-game requirement before comparing its price with the full Vault Edition.
- Compare the upgrade’s current cost with the extras you want. Keep time-limited or already-expired offers out of that calculation.
First-time buyers should compare complete Standard and Vault editions. If you are unsure what you own, check before adding a duplicate game or incompatible upgrade.
Review refund conditions before redeeming or using extras. Steam-store DLC normally requires a refund request within 14 days, less than two hours played in the base game after buying the DLC, and content that has not been consumed, modified or transferred. Some third-party DLC is non-refundable, and in-game purchases have their own rules. Which Edition Fits Your Priorities?
Choose Standard for the base game if you do not want the extras. Check the same PC requirements, SSD space and online account conditions before purchasing.
Consider Vault for the named extras. Review the operator designs, weapon collection and BlackCell timing against your plans; the bundle’s value depends on what you would use.
Consider the upgrade for an eligible Steam copy. Check its requirements and price in the owning account; it does not cover the full cost for a new player.
Keep Preorder Benefits Separate
Beta access and launch promotions retain their original deadlines and eligibility. Rewards may require another game, a qualifying account or separate redemption; check current terms before including them in your purchase decision.
