When comparing an offer you have found elsewhere with Steam, write down these details together:

• Edition: Standard, complete Vault Edition or Vault Upgrade.
• Platform: Steam, rather than a different PC storefront or a console copy.
• Store region and currency: the actual local quote, not a currency symbol added to a converted amount.
• Time: when the offer was checked, plus the stated end of any promotion.
• Conditions: whether the offer is restricted to existing owners, a particular account or another qualification.

Compare products under the same purchase and use conditions. A screenshot without the edition or region is insufficient; verify the cart item as well as the headline price.

Standard, Vault, or the Upgrade?

For a first Steam purchase, compare the two full-game editions: Standard for the base game, or Vault for its operator packs, weapon collection and included BlackCell season. The edition guide separates those extras from time-limited preorder benefits.

If you own Standard on Steam, check the Steam upgrade item before buying another full copy. The publisher’s upgrade route uses the original purchase platform; owning a copy on another PC store does not establish Steam eligibility. Read the item’s requirements before paying. Compare full Vault and Standard prices offered to the same account at the same time. Judge the difference against extras you would use, rather than assigning every advertised bonus an assumed cash value.

Before You Buy

Check the PC system requirements before deciding that an offer is good value. The game lists SSD storage and online security requirements in addition to CPU, GPU and memory. Buying Vault does not remove those requirements.

Next, confirm that the purchase is for your intended platform and account. Read the current item description for any activation or upgrade conditions. There is no reason to change your store region merely because another currency shows a smaller number.

Finally, distinguish current purchase contents from historical promotions. A preorder article can remain online after its early-access window or offer has ended. Do not count a past beta, a loyalty discount or a conditional reward as part of today’s purchase unless the current terms confirm it for you.

Check the Refund Conditions

For games bought through the Steam store, the usual refund-request window is within 14 days of purchase and with less than two hours played. Steam also allows requests outside those conditions for review. That is a request process, not a guarantee that every purchase will be refunded. Steam’s official refund policy.

Steam-store DLC has a different playtime check: less than two hours in the base game since the DLC purchase, along with a request within 14 days and content that has not been consumed, modified or transferred. Some third-party DLC is non-refundable; Steam says that restriction is shown before purchase. These are Steam’s DLC refund conditions.

For a Vault Upgrade, check the actual order, purchase route and any non-refundable notice before relying on either rule. An in-game purchase can have different conditions: Steam’s 48-hour rule for Valve games is not a blanket rule for third-party games. Open the relevant purchase in Steam Support to see the available refund route. Do not assume buying an upgrade resets the base game’s refund window.

Check the Exact Item Before Checkout

Open MW4 on Steam, select the intended edition and review the currency, total and conditions presented to your account.
