MW4 System Requirements: Minimum and Recommended Specs

Check the MW4 system requirements across CPU, GPU, RAM, Windows and storage, then complete the separate online-play checks. One matching component does not establish that the whole PC meets the requirements.

The table below follows the reviewed Steam product listing. The publisher’s PC article provides another official list, with an important recommended-GPU difference explained below.

The COD PC article requires Resizable BAR for Intel Arc GPUs; check your exact platform against that condition.

Compare exact GPU models. Similar names are not equivalent, and this table provides no tested ranking for unlisted cards.

Where the Official Spec Lists Differ

The Call of Duty PC technical article recommends an RTX 3060 Ti; Steam’s reviewed list names an RTX 3060. Keep that source difference visible when comparing your card.

The COD article describes its recommended tier as a target of 90 FPS in multiplayer at High settings. That target belongs to the article’s corresponding hardware and conditions. It is not a performance result measured by this website and should not be transferred to Steam’s different NVIDIA entry.

If you are making a hardware purchase, open both current sources and check whether either has been revised. If a card falls between the two listed models, seek testing for your specific configuration instead of treating the lower entry as a guaranteed result.

SSD Space and Update Headroom

The launch requirement is 115 GB of available SSD space. It measures required storage, not download traffic or a future update’s peak temporary space.

Check the selected Steam library drive, not free space on another disk. Allow room beyond the launch minimum for subsequent activity.

Online Play Requirements Beyond CPU and GPU

Activision says MW4 players without the required TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot configuration will be restricted from any online game mode. For these online security checks, the support page specifies Windows 10 version 22H2 or later, or Windows 11, alongside its firmware guidance. These requirements must be checked separately from the game’s minimum rendering hardware. Activision security requirements.

That distinction matters for older systems. A processor appearing in a minimum game-specification list is not, by itself, proof that the complete PC meets every current security requirement. Start with the read-only security checks rather than changing firmware settings because the game shows a warning.

Steam also lists a phone number linked to the Steam account as a requirement. See the phone-number guide for the official account-management route. Separately, MW4 online play requires an Activision account, as explained in the game’s official account guide. Completing the hardware checks does not complete account setup, and Vault does not remove these conditions.

How to Check Your PC Against the Lists

1. Write down the exact processor and GPU models, installed memory, Windows version and intended SSD. Use the information shown by Windows or your hardware manufacturer’s documentation.
2. Compare each field with the same official tier. Do not combine the recommended RAM row with a minimum GPU and call the whole system recommended.
3. Note the RTX 3060/3060 Ti difference if you are reading the recommended NVIDIA tier. Keep the source attached to the conclusion.
4. Check storage at the actual Steam destination and complete the separate online-security and account checks.
5. Use any performance target only within its stated context. Different settings, modes, updates and hardware combinations require their own testing.

These checks do not predict an untested PC’s frame rate or guarantee compatibility. Complete them before comparing Standard and Vault prices.
